Is it ok to do some extra cardio work, or will it interfere with the BWPB Fat Loss program?

I live in a resort town. The beach is 4 blocks away, there are bike trails 5 minutes away. I surf every chance I get and like to spend all day out in my kayak. So, it's really more for recreation, but a good 10 mile bike ride down HWY 30 A here in Florida is not only beautiful, but fun.

Also, I like to do sprints and Tabata Protocol from time to time. Would that interfere at all if I do it on a moderate or low intensity day?

Thanks!

Hi Duel,

First of all, it's just plain nasty to rub it in that you're in a beach town! :)

Next, I think the following posts will probably go a long way to filling in the blanks for you. Check those out and that ask any questions you might have.

Thanks!    I think I got the gist of it.

Most of the activities I do are for recreation, but surfing is really strenuous and burns lots of calories. It requires both explosive and endurance strength, so depending on the wave size and the rip-current strength it can either be a relaxing day, or a fight just to ride a wave or two. And I'm at the complete mercy of the weather, so I can go a few weeks without surfing at all.

Really enjoying the program so far.  Before this I have been doing circuit training, mostly bodyweight, and bicycle sprints.  I have a lean body mass of 218lbs. You definitely can build mass with bodyweight, make no mistake.  The reason I'm on this program is even though I have considerable muscle built through bodyweight (pushups/pullups/dips/chins)  I'm pretty stiff.   I really like the 360 degree level of training you offer.   And I have hypothyroidism and diabetes, so I have to exercise or I atrophy both mentally and physically.

Cheers…
