I have been doing the fundamentals program for about 2 weeks. So far I have had no trouble learning the movements, until I came up to the

Tripod. I am having difficulty figuring out how to go from the tripod to the full squat position. I have watched the vids and it seems simple, however, my mind and body are obviously not in sink with this movement.

What exercises can I do to better prepare me for this movement, also, can you explain just how to move from the tripod to the squat position.

Hi,

Please start by practicing the exercise in front of a set of stairs. Use the first step as a support behind you.

Reach back and put your first hand on the step. Then sweep the free hand over and place it down on the step so that you can remove the original hand (so now you are in your new "tripod").

Now, take your new free hand and sweep it over towards your planted hand, which is still on the step behind you. Once you reach the end point of that sweep, reverse direction and sweep it out to the front.

Use the momentum of that sweeping hand to propel you forward into your low squat. Once you are a hero at that exercise with the step, you can start working on doing the same movement with the hands on the floor.

Cheers,

Adma
