I find myself in a bind.

I want to workout. I do, I get myself pumped up, I think about it all night, I can imagine the workout in my head and all and then, time to wake and I simply… sleep in.

I can't get my a** out there to workout and I'm p*ssed at myself for that and I need some good a** kicking to get me started…

any ideas?

What I found worked for me was starting with the 5 Tibetans. The first one you're just spinning in place and breathing, three reps – even stumbling out of bed late it's easy. And once you've done the first one, well, it's just another few seconds to do three reps of the second one, and then you're down on the floor anyhow so you may as well do 3 and 4 and 5…  It's so easy. For a week. And then you move up to 4 reps…

And before you know it you've gotten yourself a habit of exercising first thing in the morning.

Buy a really loud and/or annoying alarm clock – one that you absolutely cannot ignore. Now, put it somewhere where you have to get out of bed to turn it off. You can even stick it on top of whatever you're going to exercise in.

I'm not kidding. I used this for a while many years ago when I had trouble getting out of bed early enough for something or other that I've long forgotten about. But it worked for me.

Of course, the other solution is go to bed 30 minutes earlier – assuming you don't have some very serious situation that prevents you from doing so.

Don’t beat yourself up. We all get in this rut from time to time. Sit back and think about why this self sabotage might be happening. It could be something as easy as the time slot.

Why think about it all night, why not just do it before you go to bed? If you think you are going to be too tired at the end of the day (I know you just thought that. . . .) just start by going over a practice run of the workout to refine the exercises. Once your body gets warm you could start with just a few rounds, and then you have the choice to continue if you find yourself actually enjoying it.

Or you could just try getting up, stay in your PJ’s and do a round of Intu-flow. This will get you warmed and primed. Even if you only do Intu-flow for a week, this will get you moving. Then just DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Posting your cycles will keep you honest and hopefully motivated. Come over to ‘success stories’ and read our posts.

Best of luck, you will enjoy it once you get going.
